Sarah Chen
Sarah founded Lumen Legal Group in 2008 with a clear vision: a boutique firm that combines the rigor of a large practice with the responsiveness and personal attention that clients deserve. In the years since, she has built a team that shares that philosophy.
A seasoned litigator with 18 years of experience, Sarah focuses on complex business disputes, including partnership disagreements, contract litigation, and commercial fraud. She has tried more than 40 cases to verdict and has led numerous high-stakes arbitrations.
Before founding the firm, Sarah practiced at Thompson & Knight in Dallas, where she handled commercial litigation for Fortune 500 clients. She brings that level of preparation to every case at Lumen, regardless of size.

Marcus Williams
Marcus brings a rare perspective to employment law: before joining Lumen, he spent five years as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Labor, where he investigated and prosecuted violations of federal employment statutes. He knows how regulators think because he was one.
Now in private practice, Marcus represents both employers and employees in complex workplace disputes. His clients benefit from his deep understanding of FLSA, Title VII, ADA, and Texas employment law, as well as his practical approach to dispute resolution.
Marcus is a frequent speaker at the Austin Human Resources Management Association and has published articles on emerging employment law issues in the Texas Bar Journal.

Elena Vasquez
Elena is a Partner at Lumen Legal Group and leads the firm's real estate practice. Born and raised in Austin, she understands the city's real estate landscape with a depth that few attorneys can match. Her bilingual capability in English and Spanish allows her to serve a broader range of clients in the Central Texas community.
Elena handles complex commercial lease disputes, development agreements, title issues, and multi-party property litigation. She has represented developers, landlords, tenants, and buyers in transactions and disputes totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
Before joining Lumen, Elena practiced at Bracewell in Houston, where she focused on commercial real estate transactions for institutional clients.

David Park
David is an Associate at Lumen Legal Group and a key member of the firm's intellectual property practice. Before law school, David spent three years as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, giving him an insider's understanding of the patent prosecution process.
David helps technology companies, startups, and inventors protect their innovations through patent prosecution, trademark registration, trade secret strategy, and IP licensing. His technical background in electrical engineering allows him to understand complex technologies and communicate them effectively to judges and juries.
He is active in Austin's startup community and regularly advises early-stage companies on IP strategy through Lumen's partnership with Capital Factory.
